Time Capsule

Time Capsule Task:

To choose ten objects/artefacts/ephemera from the past and present which are to be included in a personal time capsule. The time capsule to be buried and dug up in 2023.

1. Fisheye photo of Paris.

2. Chid-hood toy (Diddl).

3. Postcard of the new London bus (Route 24).

4. Badge of Disney princesses.

5. London underground map.

6. Film museum ticket (2011).

7. Old house keys.

8. Flight to London ticket.

9. Japanese toy received as a present.

10. Used pack of playing cards.

Where:

I chose opposite the iconic Battersea Power Station which used to provide power to a quarter of London's population. The burial site is next to the Route 24 bus stop.

When:

At night when the building looks the most spectacular with the four chimneys illuminated. This view will be radically different in ten years time when the time capsule is dug up. The follow photo shows myself in the bushes pre-burial.

Thoughts:

Battersea power station is currently disused, however in 2023 the power station and surroundings will have been entirely renovated with the skyline changed beyond recognition. This change will be comparable to my own personal development over the next decade.
